Yorkshire Air Museum
Yorkshire Air Museum is now recognised as being one of the leading aviation history museums in Europe. You can enjoy displays such as the restored Control Tower, admire the bravery of the Air Gunner in the Air Gunners Memorial Room, learn about the RAF Regiment and Airborne Forces, watch Aircraft Engineers restore examples of the nations avaition heritage and much, much more. Events taking places in 2008 include: *5 June - FlightPATH '100', *2 July - Engineering Inspirations '100', *3 August - Thunder Day, *December 1st Onwards - Santa's Plane Weekends. Admission is £5 for Adults, £3 for Children(5-15), £4 for Senior Citizens, and £14 for a Family(2 adults and 2 children).

Yorkshire's Great Little Steam Trains
Steam along on a Hawk, Owl, Fox or Badger - our four hand-built steam engines. An enchanting 50 minute return trip on narrow gauge rail takes you through the superb scenery of the lovely South Pennine foothills. With a choice of open or closed carriages and regular special events throughout the year, this is an all weather attraction which is hugely popular with all the family. Other attractions include: *Children's Outdoor and Indoor Play Areas, *Cafe & Shop, *Picnic Sites, *Birthdays Parties, *Country Walks ... Plus Lots More! Open every weekend throughout the year and every day from May 27th to early September and all school holidays. Trains run every hour.

Young People's Project
Athersley Cares' work with young people is varied and offers educational, recreational and vocational programmes. The work is issue based and programmes are tailored to meet young people's need. Young people are involved in the planning of sessions and Local/National certificates are awarded. Groups include School Extension Project, Special Educational Needs Project and Life Skills group.

YVA promotes personal, social and educational development of young people by *offering an alternative educational programme *brokering & supporting young people into volunteering *supporting organisations who want to take on young volunteers

Youth Offending Team
The YOT aims to prevent or reduce offending by children and young people. It can help young people and families access a range of services which are associated with youth offending. These include: *Help and support with drug and alcohol problems *Help with education problems e.g. truancy *Training and education support * Parenting programmes. There are two drug workers who provide specialist services to young people. The YOT supports young people and their families at all stages of the youth justice process.

The Youth Service delivers a range of personal and social development projects and programmes to young people. This includes education, awareness and prevention programmes on smoking, alcohol, drugs and related issues.
